There is one pick today.
Take Atlanta Hawks -2 spread (buy the half point) against Washington Wizards for 3% of the bankroll.
The Atlanta Hawks find themselves in the unenviable position of being down 0-2 in their series with the Washington Wizards, but will have a chance to claw their way back into the series as the venue shifts to Atlanta. This series has been close throughout thus far and the Hawks showed a ton of grit by rallying from an eight-point halftime deficit in Game 2, to find itself leading by four heading into the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, that is where things fell apart for Atlanta. Washington managed to outscore the Hawks, 35-23 in the 4th as Atlanta did not have an answer for the constant offense of both Bradley Beal and John Wall when the game was on the line.
Playing in DC is a tough out for any opponents as the Wizards have been one of the better teams on their home floor this season. The Hawks managed to keep things close throughout and now with them having the advantage of playing on their home court in front of their fans, we believe that will ultimately be the added advantage Atlanta needs to come away with the victory in this contest.
Despite being down 0-2, the Hawks have not played poorly during this series. They have had some unfortunate breaks and struggled at times, however overall, they have played well for being on the road. Turnovers have been a key problem for this team in the first two games as they turned the ball over 18 and 19 times respectively. We expect Mike Budenholzer to have made a focused effort to remind his team of the importance of ball security over the last few days and expect to see all the Hawks players have a much more concentrated effort on protecting the basketball. We shouldn't expect to see the high number of turnovers that have plagued this team in Game 3.
The Wizards have played an extremely physical series up until this point and that is something that we expect the Hawks to use to their advantage in this contest. Atlanta has been spending a lot of time at the charity stripe in this series having taken 78 free throw attempts in the first two games. The Hawks have the proper game plan to attack this Wizards team and given how close the series has been; it has been working. Atlanta simply needs to be better in the closing minutes of each contest and make the plays necessary to come away with the win. Up until this point, they have not done that, but now playing in the comforts of their home gym, we expect other roles players to step up and contribute which should be the added advantage that the Hawks need to get over the hump and finally win a game in this series.
