There is one pick tonight.

Take Memphis Grizzlies +11 spread against San Antonio Spurs for 3% of the bankroll.

The Memphis Grizzlies will look to rebound tonight as they take on the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2. The Grizzlies got off to a great start against the Spurs in Game 1, leading after the first quarter and down by only three at the half, however, it was a second half that they would sure like to forget as the Spurs simply dominated them on both sides of the ball enroute to a 111-83 victory. Memphis was down by as many as 36 points in the second half and there is no question that this was one of their worst performances of the season. Defensively is where the Grizzlies truly struggled, which is a rarity for them. On the season, they have been an extremely strong defensive team, holding their opponents to just an average of 100 points per game which is good for third in the league. In Game 1 however, they allowed the Spurs to shoot an impressive 53% from the field.

While the Grizzlies were dominated in Game 1, the great thing about a 7-game series is that is allows teams to regroup, refocus and adjust their game plans. Memphis played poorly in Game 1, but we expect a much different team to hit the court in Game 2. We don't expect to see them struggle for the second straight game. Meanwhile, San Antonio played a near perfect game from the second quarter on. They received contributions from nearly everyone on the floor and while they are quality team capable of posting another solid game, we don't expect them to play near close to perfect once again. There will be a regression more to both team’s seasonal averages in this contest which should make for a much closer game.

The Grizzlies lost in blowout fashion in Game 1 and it would be easy to expect that Game 2 will yield similar results, however, we don't believe that will be the case. From a confidence standpoint, the Grizzlies cannot afford to lose another game in embarrassing fashion. Going down 0-2 in a playoff series is not the end of the world, however, being less than competitive in both contests could be from a motivational standpoint. We expect to see a bit of desperation in the Grizzlies players tonight and even though they may indeed fall short of the outright victory, we expect this matchup to be much closer than anticipated as the Grizzlies keep this within single digits tonight.
