There is one MLB pick tonight. Please scroll down to view it.
Two more football picks have been released, bringing the total to 4 for the weekend, with 3 on Saturday and one on Sunday!
Take KC Royals (-132) on the ML against Detroit Tigers risking 3.96% to win 3%. (Friday)
(Duffy and Sanchez must start for wager to have action)
Danny Duffy gets the ball from Ned Yost for the defending World Series champs tonight. Duffy started the season out of the bullpen but has since established himself as Kansas City's most consistent starter. The crafty southpaw is 11-2 on the season with a 3.01 ERA! And yet because he's coming off a rare poor performance, the odds are a lot more affordable on him and the Royals tonight than they normally would be in this spot. Duffy is a fiery character and one that tends to bounce back strong! He is 10-2 after a loss and has also won 10 of his 11 starts at 'The K'! The same goes for Salvador Perez, Eric Hosmer and the rest of Kansas City, a team that still has post-season aspirations but has suffered back-to-back losses. We expect the hosts to get back to winning ways, against a division rival that they know how to beat.
It's Anibal Sanchez' turn in the Detroit rotation tonight and it goes without saying that he's not the pitcher he used to be. The experienced hurler has struggled mightily this season and even lost his spot as a starter earlier this year before regaining it due to injuries. His ERA (earned run average) is nearly double that of Duffy and currently sits at 5.92! The former Marlin has lost some velocity in his fast-ball and doesn't always command his changeup well. The Royals saw him just two weeks ago and while they struggled that night, we believe that experience will help them in facing him tonight.
The Royals are in the Wild Card hunt along with the Detroit Tigers, NY Yankees, Baltimore Orioles and a couple of other teams. They're currently 3 games back of a WC spot however and can not afford to drop any further down. For an ambitious clubhouse that started the year as champions, it would be an embarrassment if they failed to make the playoffs! We don't believe they're ready to throw in the towel. This is a roster that has shown a lot of tenacity over the past couple of years and should fight tooth and nail until the final week of the season. Against a direct rival like the Tigers, and at home, look for them to do what they've often done in Kauffman Stadium, and that is to win.
Other notable facts to consider:
- Kansas City is 9-2 as a home favorite in the -125 to -150 range!
- Duffy has held the Tigers to just a .220 batting average in 150 previous at-bats!
- Tigers have dropped 10 in a row when Anibal Sanchez starts as an underdog and they lost his last start!
