There is one pick tonight.

In addition, a college football selection has also been released for Friday.

Take Portland Blazers +3 spread (buy half a point) against LA Clippers for 3% of the bankroll.

This is an important year for the Clippers as failure to succeed will likely lead to key players like Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan potentially breaking up with one or two of them heading elsewhere. It's also a crucial year for Doc Rivers, a man who's not only the head coach but also the president of basketball operations for this franchise! We believe they will do well and might just be a contender but we don't see them starting off strong tonight. This particular matchup puts them at a disadvantage in what is their season opener and we're siding with the capable home side.

Damian Lillard put on an MVP-like performance in Portland's season opener on Tuesday! His performance was not the only impressive one, however, as most Blazers put in a solid display and looked like a team that has gelled well together. That's not a surprise given that there hasn't been as many arrivals and departures from this squad as most others. The starting lineup remains unchanged and it's clear that each player understands his role perfectly. Everyone has bought into coach Terry Stotts' philosophies and it is paying dividend for the team from Oregon.

Moda Center has long been a tough venue for opposing teams to try to leave with a victory and won't be easy for LA either. The Clippers of course know all about this team and their skillset given that they met in the playoffs last season. Portland took full advantage of key Clipper injuries and punched its ticket into the next round by eliminating Los Angeles! The Clippers might have revenge in mind but walking out with a 'W' will prove difficult. After all, this is LA's first game of the season and they may just be rusty. Preseason games have their merits but there are no substitutes for competitive NBA action. Some players are likely to struggle with their shooting, especially in the first half, as they try to find their rhythm and get back in optimal game shape.

The Trail Blazers, on the other hand, will be a step ahead having already played on Tuesday. They are less likely to run out of gas in the 4th quarter and more likely to knock down their shots, having already gone through the 'adjustment' period in their first game. The fact that this is Portland's second game of the season is a huge advantage in this spot! They shook off the season-opening nerves and anxiety that is inevitable against the Utah Jazz while the Clippers have to do it tonight. The fact that they rallied and won the game in the 4th quarter will also have given them a confidence boost. They had to play very well to get past a resilient and stout Jazz squad and to have done so, especially in the final quarter where they pulled away, gives them momentum heading into this one. We believe the underdogs are more than capable of winning outright tonight but will gladly take the 3 bonus points with them, knowing they may come into play in what should be a closely-contested matchup.
