There is one pick tonight.

Take Seattle Mariners (-132) on the ML against Houston Astros risking 3.96% to win 3%.
(Paxton and Fister must both start for wager to have action)

The first day after the All-Star Break is typically an interesting one as it can often work either for or against certain teams. The Seattle Mariners are a team that we believe the 4-day break will have helped tremendously. Prior to the break, Settle had been struggling and were in the midst of a downward spiral. The much-needed time off likely gave them a chance to step back, regroup and ultimately reset their focus. We expect them to come into this contest rejuvenated and motivated to start the second half with a victory.

Meanwhile, for a team like the Houston Astros, we expect the break to actually hurt them in this contest. The 'Stros were clicking on all cylinders heading into the All-Star Break, however those 4 days off likely halted any momentum that they had built. They essentially have to start from scratch and build momentum up again and that can be tough for a team to do, especially one who will likely come into this contest a little overconfident given their recent success not only heading into the break, but also against Seattle as a team.

The Mariners will be in all out revenge mode after being swept by Houston in a 3 game set on the road earlier this season. They need this 'W' tonight to avoid falling to a .500 record and we believe they will get it. The M's have seen plenty of Houston pitcher Doug Fister over the years including twice already this season where he's allowed 6 runs in 12 innings against them. Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager, Leonys Martin and Nelly Cruz all have great numbers against him! Cano, in particular, has not only had success against Fister, but has also been outstanding against the Astros as a team this season, hitting .463 with 19 RBI's in 10 games against this club!

Not only have the Astros been a team that has struggled on the road this season, but they have also struggled against southpaw pitching. The 'Stros are just 12-16 against lefties and James Paxton is a talented lefty who the Astros have only faced off against just once. Paxton is crafty and has baffled his fair share of hitters this season including the defending champion Kansas City Royals for 7 innings last time out. These are good odds to lay with a team that we feel has numerous advantages tonight.
