There is one college play tonight.
Take UL Lafayette +10 spread (buy half a point) against Georgia for 3% of the bankroll.
After starting the season with two straight losses, the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns have been on fire lately having won eight straight coming into their matchup tonight with the Georgia Bulldogs. Their success has been largely in part due to the arrival of BYU transfer, Frank Bartley IV (19.1 points per game), and Bryce Washington (15.3 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game). As a team, Louisiana-Lafayette scores at a high rate and does so in bunches. They are currently ranked 7th in the nation in points per game at 90.1. They are also one of the most dominate teams on the glass, averaging 40.8 boards per contest which is good for 30th in the nation. Lastly, the Ragin’ Cajuns have been extremely protective of the basketball and have typically won the turnover battle versus their opponents, posting a plus 4.4 turnover margin on the season. The Ragin' Cajuns are not a team that should be overlooked.
The Georgia Bulldogs are undoubtedly the 'bigger' named school and have played the tougher schedule to date, however, we believe this could be a tough matchup for the Bulldogs, even with them being on their home floor. It's certainly worth mentioning that Georgia is coming off a home loss in their last contest and many are expected the Bulldogs to have a bounce back performance in this contest. While that certainly is a rational thought and a plausible handicapping angle, we believe that it is somewhat irrelevant given the fact that that contest was 8 days ago. It's been over a week since the Bulldogs have taken the court and that much time away from the pace of the game could certainly result in a slow, sluggish performance in the early minutes. We wouldn't be surprised if there were a lot of miscues on both the offensive and defensive end by the Georgia players in this contest.
The Bulldogs have high hopes of making the NCAA Tournament this season and they certainly have enough talent playing in one of the weaker major conferences (SEC) however having lost a home game against Marquette in their last contest, they can ill-afford another loss, especially at the hands on an opponent from the much smaller Sun Belt. This is a huge matchup for the Ragin' Cajuns to prove themselves against a much more well-known program and this is going to put a lot of undue pressure on the Bulldog players for this contest. While the Bulldogs will likely be motivated for this matchup, we're not completely convinced that they are the better overall team. Expecting a double-digit victory over a team that has as much momentum as Lafayette is simply sign of disrespect by the oddsmakers. While Georgia may in fact managed to pull off the outright victory, we expect the Lafayette players to keep this one competitive to the end.
