There is one pick tonight.

Sports Profit System owns a 14-3 record in the month of December!

Take South Carolina +3 spread (buy half a point) against Seton Hall for 3% of the bankroll.

There is no question that the loss of Sindarius Thornwell was a huge blow to the undefeated Gamecocks, especially considering that he was the team’s leading scorer and assist man. The decision to suspend Thornwell for a violation of NCAA rules was solely head coach Frank Martin's decision and while it was likely an unpopular one, we believe his decision will ultimately be respected by the other players which will allow them to become a much more cohesive unit. The role players stepped up huge in Thornwell's absence with both Duane Notice and PJ Dozier contributing 27 and 20 points respectively enroute to a 70-54 victory over FIU in their last contest, which was their 5th straight double-digit victory. With this now being the second game without Thornwell in the lineup, we expect the players to be much more comfortable picking up the slack and increasing their individual production.

We believe the fact that Thornwell will be missing from the rotation has somewhat inflated this line a bit. Let's not forget that South Carolina is undefeated on the season and has been arguably the best defensive team in the country thus far this season. They are allowing just 55.5 points per game which ranks 3rd in the country. They have been holding their opponents to just 33.7% from the field and an even more smothering 25.9% from deep. South Carolina's success this season has been due largely in part because of their stellar play on the defensive side of the ball. They are not a team that has been involved in many shootouts and because of that fact, we don't believe the loss of Thornwell is as important as everyone seems to think it is. The Gamecocks have a ton of depth and rotate defensive players in with regularity in order to keep fresh legs on the floor.

Seton Hall may be the defending Big East champions; however, they have not been as impressive or dominant as they were a season ago. They currently have 2 losses on the season and were fortunate to come away with a victory over Cal in their last contest. Mostly known for their offensive prowess, the Pirates struggled to put the ball in the basket in their last contest, going just 3 of 11 from long range and 9 of 20 from the charity stripe. Cal is nowhere near as defensively sound as the Gamecocks and we expect the Pirates to struggle to put points on the board in this contest as well.

With this game being played on neutral ground, we simply believe that the Gamecocks are the more well-rounded and better overall team at this point. While the loss of Thornwell hurts, we don't believe that South Carolina is going to let one player define their success this season. We expect South Carolina to walk out of the arena with their perfect record intact and come away with the outright victory. The points have value, but we don't expect they will be needed.
