There is one pick tonight.
Take NC Greensboro +9 spread (buy half a point) against Wake Forest for 3% of the bankroll.
Wake Forest is having a solid start to the season, coming into this contest with a 7-2 overall record with their only losses coming at the hands of Northwestern and highly ranked Villanova. While they have been playing well this season, they could be heading into a bit of a trap this evening as they play a UNC Greensboro team that definitely should not be overlooked.
The UNC Greensboro Spartans have also had an impressive start to the season going 7-2 overall and comes into this matchup having won 6 straight. They are a solid defensive team, holding opponents to an average of 59.4 points per game. Up until now, no one has scored more than 66 points on the Spartans this season. What is also impressive is that they are ranked seventh in the nation in steals per game. They average 10 steals per game and have two guards who are averaging more than two steals per contest which could make things difficult for the Wake Forest ball handlers.
On offense, the Spartans spread the ball around with Francis Alonso leading the team averaging 13.1 points per game. He has also made 25 three-points thus far on the season. Diante Baldwin is next in line and is averaging 12.6 points, four assists and 2.2 steals per game. As a team the Spartans are shooing 45% from the field and 39% from three-point range. They have also been solid at the charity stripe, connecting on 77% of their opportunities.
While the Spartans haven't necessarily been facing top-notch competition this season, this will still be a difficult game for the Demon Deacons, especially playing on the road. It would be very easy for them to overlook a team from a much smaller conference and we believe that is exactly what happens tonight. The Spartans have shown that they have the offense to keep things competitive. Even though they likely won't get the outright victory, we do expect this game to be much closer than the oddsmakers expect as UNCG keeps things competitive and manages to stay within the generous point spread.
