Sports Profit System has profited in 7 of the first 8 Saturdays of the NCAA football season!

Three college picks for tomorrow are being released a day in advance.

There is one wager on Friday.

Take Phoenix Suns at -4.5 spread against Portland Trail Blazers for 3% of the bankroll.

The Phoenix Suns home opener didn't go exactly as coach Jeff Hornacek had planned as his team appeared a bit rusty and was ice cold from the field. He played all 13 of his players in the opening game and Phoenix managed to shoot just 39.1% from the floor and 25% (6-of-24) from beyond the arc in their opening loss at home to Dallas. Brandon Knight led the team in scoring with just 15 points but also managed to turn it over 15 times. Eric Bledsoe chipped in with 13 pints and Markieff Morris struggled with four points and five fouls in just 11 minutes of action.

On a positive note however, rookie Devin Booker played well in his first game off the bench going 6 for 7 from the field and contributing 14 points. It was a bright spot in an otherwise ugly showing from the Suns but the good news that despite their poor showing, a lot of their mistakes can be attributed to it being the first game of the season and we expect them to bounce back in this contest.

The Portland Trailblazers have a new look this season having lost two key components in LaMarcus Aldridge and Wesley Matthews. The Trailblazers were supposed to go from playoff contender to the lottery this season. However, on opening night at home, they beat up on a tired New Orleans squad. C.J. McCollum, who was filling in for the injured Gerald Henderson, had a career night, pouring in 37 points on 14-of-22 shooting and 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. It was an impressive showing from the Blazers, however we don't believe a repeat of that performance is in the cards for them tonight.

The opening game of the season couldn't have gone differently for these two clubs. The Suns looked unimpressive while the Blazers looked like a championship caliber team. It's worth remembering that other than Damien Lillard, the Blazers have 4 new players filling in the starting role and the Suns players should be able to have their way with them in this contest. This is an important matchup for Phoenix as this is the first game of a home and home series. After tonight, these two teams will meet in the Moda Center for a game out in Portland. It's important for the Suns to pick up the victory in this contest as they could be looking at starting the season 0-3 with a loss.

Portland has seemingly had their way with the Suns in the past; however this is not the same Portland team. Phoenix will no doubt be looking to take advantage of the new roster and turn their around their recent fortunes in this series. After such a poor showing against Dallas, we expect the Suns to have a bounce back performance tonight and come away with a big win and cover against the Blazers.

Other notable facts to consider:

  • Suns are 6-2 ATS in last 8 home games of this series.
  • Portland have not covered a spread on the road in 7 games!
  • Suns are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss!
