Sports Profit System finished the regular MLB season with an unrivaled 84-61 record! The Playoffs are almost here as the Wild Card games are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

When it comes to total wagers, SPS is on an extended 38-18 winning streak with Over/Under picks!

Take the UNDER 43 total points in Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks for 3% of the bankroll.

This is a contest that has "Defensive Battle" written all over it. There is no question that the Seattle Seahawks are arguably the top ranked defense in the league. With the re-insertion of Kam Chancellor to the secondary, their defense as a whole just got increasingly more stout. The fact that they managed to shut out their opponents in their last contest speaks volumes about the hunger and aggression that this defense is currently showing. They are not satisfied with being a 1-2 team at the moment and we expect to see them take out their frustrations on opposing offenses.

Century Link field is one of the very toughest venues for opposing teams to play in and the Seahawks not only want to win the game, that make it a point to try and completely dominate all phases of the game. Seattle is known for their fierce defensive play and having pitched a shutout in their last contest, the coaches, players and the fans will be expecting a repeat performance tonight. While they may not necessarily get the shutout, but we do expect another dominant performance tonight and would be somewhat surprised if they surrendered more than 14 points. In their last 7 appearances in Prime Time games, the Seahawks D has given up just an average of just 11 points per contest.

The Detroit Lions are 0-3 on the season and there is no doubt they are hungry to get their first win. That being said, sometimes when teams "want" to win so badly is when the most mistakes are made. Matt Stafford has had a long history of being a gunslinger with (at times) questionable decision making. If he tries to force things in the game, which will likely be the Seattle defense's chance to capitalize. The Lions may be able to move the ball at times down the field, but we don't expect them to find the end zone often in this contest.

As good as the Seattle defense is, their offense is a bit lackluster. They are not a team that is known for their quick-strike offense or their ability to put points on the board in a hurry. In fact they have only managed to score 7 total touchdowns this season. To put things in perspective, there are only 3 other teams in the league who have scored 7 or fewer touchdowns this season. Seattle is an offense that is methodical in its approach to marching down the field. The consistently move the ball, but at times often settle for FGs rather than TDs and that could be the case tonight.

We expect both teams (especially Detroit) to have trouble moving the ball, with drives frequently stalling. This will likely be a game of field position in the early going with a majority of the points being scored by the kickers. If both teams can avoid the critical mistakes and prevent defensive or special teams’ touchdowns, then this game should fall just Under the posted total.

Other notable facts to consider:

  • The Under is 10-3 when Detroit has featured on Monday Night Football since 1992.
  • The Under is 3-0 the last 3 times the Seahawks have played on Monday Night Football.
  • The total has gone under in all 3 Lions road games when the total was set between 42 to 45 points!
