Sports Profit System owns the highest MLB profit of all thanks to an outstanding 67-50 record backings underdogs and short favorites!
The best news? Our historically most successful sport, football, kicks off this Thursday!
Take Washington Nationals as underdogs (+125) on the Money Line against St. Louis Cardinals risking 3% to win 3.75%.
(Gonzalez and Lackey must start for wager to have action)
The last two days we have successfully backed the St Louis Cardinals and for good reason. Tonight however we believe the tables have turned and this is the night where the Red Birds stumble. The Cardinals are coming off an extremely successful series against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park and tonight, in their first game back at home, we believe they are in somewhat of a letdown spot.
Meanwhile, the Washington Nationals head into this series in complete desperation mode as they need to continue piling up the wins as we approach the end of the season. Time is running out for this team as they are currently sitting 5.5 games back of Mets and 8 games back of a Wild Card spot! After such an impressive season, to suddenly struggle at the final dash and miss the playoffs would be a huge blow to this team. They are full of proud and ambitious players and we don't believe they are ready to throw in the towel just yet.
We expect the Nationals to surprise the betting public, who is largely backing St Louis in this series opener and they likely have just the pitcher on the mound to allow them to do so. Despite Gio Gonzalez's struggles this season, he has been lights out against the Red Birds in his career. He owns an ultra-impressive 0.93 ERA in 4 career starts against St Louis. He has given up just 3 runs while also striking out 25! It's really no surprise how much success Gonzalez has had against the Cards in his career given the teams struggles against left handed pitching. St Louis has yet to figure out the southpaw despite having 100+ at bats against him. Like his team, Gonzalez should be desperate to come away with the win in this contest and turn around his recent misfortunes.
John Lackey has been nearly the exact opposite of Gonzalez. Lackey has had a spectacular season this year but has struggled mightily against this Nats lineup in his career. As a team, the Nationals have batted an impressive .357 against him in their careers. With the Nationals offense starting to click, they should be able to make contact and get to Lackey in this contest.
The public perception has certainly been skewed in this contest given the struggles of Gonzalez this season compared to the success that Lackey has had. Despite nearly 80% of the betting public backing the Cardinals in this contest, the odds have shifted in the opposite direction and towards the Nationals. A lot can be said about what side the 'sharps' are on. Over the last 2 days there was no questions the sharps were all over the Cardinals, but tonight it's clear that they are backing the Nationals and so are we. We believe Washington will come up with the timely hits needed to come away with a closely contested victory as the underdogs.
