ATTENTION: Picks will be posted at 11:00 AM tomorrow (Thursday) due to afternoon games.

Sports Profit System has won 8 of its last 10 picks but it isn't short-term results that we care much about. Our goal has always been to finish the season ranked #1 and we're well on our way to topping all baseball charts among transparent and verified handicappers!

Football is just around the corner and SPS can't wait for what has been, historically, its most profitable sport!

Take Atlanta Braves on the Money Line (-141) against Colorado Rockies risking 4.23% of bankroll to win 3%.
(Miller and Flande must start for wager to have action)

It's almost an injustice that Atlanta Braves pitcher Shelby Miller is only 5-10 on the season given how well he has pitched this year. His overall record is no way indicative of just how consistent this kid has been on the mound and yet he has rarely been rewarded for his efforts. To show just how unlucky he has been, Miller has allowed only 2 earned runs in 19 of his 25 starts, yet he's riding a 17-start losing streak due to lack of run support! To top that, he has been even better at Turner Field where he has a miniscule 2.02 ERA in 12 home starts this season! The youngster consistently put in quality outing after quality outing and tonight we believe will be the one where he finally gets that much elusive win.

The Colorado Rockies have been one of the worst teams in the NL this season and the primary reason for that has been because of their extremely poor pitching. Whether it's their starting rotation or the pitchers from their bullpen, they simply cannot keep opposing teams from scoring. The Rockies will send Yohan Flande to the mound to counter Miller tonight. The lefty is having success as a member of the starting rotation, although the bar that has been set by the rest of the rotation has been set pretty low. He is coming off an impressive outing in his last start where he tossed seven innings of two-run ball while outdueling Nationals’ Ace, Max Scherzer for his third win of the year. While that certainly was an impressive showing, we believe it will be short lived today. The lefty may have a 3-1 record but his 3.94 ERA over 6 starts shows he has been hittable on the mound and we expect the Braves bats to have success against him in this contest.

This is a situation that we feel severely favors the home side. Turner Field has proven to be a tough place for opposing teams to have success, even in such a down years as the Braves have had. They have been especially solid at home coming off a loss which the experience last night at this same Rockies team. Atlanta has also been extremely proficient against south paws this season and should have success tonight against Flande, who may be just a bit overconfident after such an impressive outing his last time out.

Rockies slugger, Carlos Gonzalez is still dealing with a knee injury and could serve in a limited role tonight, if at all. Also power-hitting 3rd baseman, Nolan Arenado is just 1 for 9 lifetime against Miller in his career. There is no way that the Braves want to lose a home series to the worst team in the National league. In last night's loss they committed 3 fielding errors which cost them a 5-1 loss. Tonight we expect them to play a much cleaner and fundamentally sound game tonight. Both teams are poor this year but in our opinion Atlanta is still the better side and Fredi Gonzalez the better overall coach. The Braves have certain edges in this game which should see them take it and finally reward their starting pitcher for the numerous quality starts he has given his team.

Other notable facts to consider:

  • Colorado is 44-98 in road games over the last 2 seasons.
  • Atlanta is 18-7 at home after a loss this season!
  • Colorado is just 12-31 on the road against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season over the last 3 years.
