Take LA Angels (-134) on the Money Line against Chicago White Sox risking 4.02% of the bankroll to win 3%.
(Weaver and Samardzija must start for wager to have action)

Despite an ugly road slump recently, the Los Angeles Angels have continued to fight for a position in the postseason and are currently just 2.5 games back of the Houston Astros for the AL West lead. The team finally back in the friendly confines of Angels Stadium and are having quite a bit of success as they come into the 3rd game of this series with a 2-0 lead over the White Sox.

The White Sox come into this game on quite a road slump themselves having lost 6 straight on the highway. It's unlikely that their luck will turn tonight as the Angels have dominated them in this venue over recent history. Chicago has lost 7 straight meetings in Anaheim and tonight they have a pitcher on the mound who has been struggling in Jeff Samardzija. Samardzija is having a season to forget this year as he is just 8-8 with a 4.78 ERA this season. Opponents are currently hitting .354 off the veteran during in that stretch and he's also walked six and hit three batters in just over 15 innings of work. We can see form his demeanor on the mound that Samardzija has been incredibly frustrated due to his recent performances lately and it is not surprising given he is 0-3 with 12.91 ERA in his last three trips to the mound. He's often thrown up his arms and shook his head in disbelief especially in his most recent performance against the Cubs as his frustrations obviously got the best of him. Samardzija is obviously in a bad place mentally at the moment and that will likely have a negative effect on his performance tonight. It doesn't help that the Halos have had great success in their plate appearances against him batting over .300!

The Angels will counter with veteran Jared Weaver on the mound tonight. Weaver will be making his third straight start since returning from a 60-day stint on the disabled list. While his first few performances since returning to the rotation have not been great, we believe he will perform much better in this contest having already had a chance to knock some of the rust off from sitting on the sidelines the last couple of months. Weaver has also had tremendous success against the White Sox in his career are he is 9-2 2.15 ERA in twelve career outings against the Southsiders.

The White Sox have recorded fewer than nine hits in four straight games and have been outscored 30-18 in their last 6 games on the road. The Angels bats have been the kryptonite of the White Sox pitching rotations as the starters have posted a 6.43 ERA during its seven consecutive losses in Anaheim. The Angels hold numerous advantages in this contest and even at this price they show quite a bit of value as they are the team that has more to play for in this contest with their postseason hopes on the line.

Other notable facts to consider:

  • Jared Weaver is 98-41 at home in his career!
  • The Angels are 17-6 as a home favorite of -125 to -150 this season.
  • The Angels are a perfect 13-0 since June 28th after a win in which they never trailed!
  • Jeff Samardzija is 15-33 when against teams with winning records over the last 2 seasons.
  • The Angels are 90-53 when playing against a team with a losing record the last 2 seasons.
