After extensively studying tonight's games, we have once again decided that the best value lies with the red hot Pittsburgh Pirates who have now won their 7 last games scoring 49 runs! They were taken on the Run Line last night as well and were victorious 10-3 to give us 4 consecutive perfect nights!

Take Pittsburgh Pirates on the Run Line -1.5 spread (+100) against Milwaukee Brewers risking 2% (Liriano and Hand must start)

As everyone knows we had a similar play on the run line last night that easily cashed as Pittsburgh cruised to a 10-3 victory. In tonight's matchup we feel many factors remain the same and don't believe the starting pitchers change a whole lot. Gerrit Cole extended Pittsburgh's starting pitchers streak of allowing 3 earned runs or less to 14 straight games! The pitching has been superb for the Pirates and Liriano will have the task of making sure that impressive streak stretches to 15 games tonight.

Francisco Liriano (6-3, 2.30 ERA) has been nothing short of amazing this season when pitching at home. In 4 starts he has given up a total of just 6 earned runs and 20 total hits. If you consider those numbers over 4 games, that breaks down to 1.5 runs per start and only 5 hits. Those are some pretty impressive numbers and as good as some of the best pitchers in the league. Liriano has also enjoyed past success against Brewers and is 5-2 lifetime against them.

Donovan Hand will get the start for Milwaukee tonight. Hand pitched well in his first start this season, however he has been used primarily in relief duty. In 19 innings so far this season, Hand has given up 5 earned runs. Those aren't bad numbers but those runs were given up in a relief situation when his primary duty was to get outs and keep a lead. Being a starting pitcher is completely different than being a bullpen pitcher, everything changes and it typically doesn't work out well for a team when that tries to convert a bullpen pitcher into a starter. The Pirates are on a 7 game win streak and have scored 49 runs in the process! With Pittsburgh playing as well as they have been, this could be a short night for Hand much like it was for Hellweg last night.

Pittsburgh as a team has been on an incredible winning streak. They currently have the best record in baseball. The Pirates are 16-5 in their last 21 home games and 23-5 in their last 28 against a team with a losing record! Milwaukee has lost 4 of its last 5 games and is likely to struggle again tonight with a couple key players injured. Just as last night we feel the Bucs have the advantage in several spots and believe Pittsburgh win this game convincingly. Run Line bets are always more dangerous since a team has to win by more than 1 run but when used sparingly as we have on only a couple occasions this season, it can be worthwhile and well worth the risk. Take Pirates on the run line at -1.5 spread for the best value.
