#1: Take Detroit Tigers on the Money Line (-132) against Cleveland Indians risking 2% (Fister and Kluber must start)

The Tigers have crushed Cleveland over the past two days winning with ease and also took 3 of 4 from Toronto having scored a minimum of 6 runs in each of their last 5 games. They should also enjoy an advantage on the mound today. Corey Kluber (6-5. 4.33 ERA) has not pitched well this season and he has pitched even worse against these same Tigers. Kluber is 1-3 with a 7.88 ERA in 5 career starts against Detroit! The Indians are also just 3-9 in Kluber's home starts this season.

Doug Fister (6-5, 3.80 ERA) goes to the hill for Detroit this afternoon. Fister has struggled as of late but against the Indians he has been nothing short of sensational posting a 5-3 career record with a 2.24 ERA including 64 strikeouts in 80 1/3 innings!

The Detroit offense has started to heat up again and it has largely been thanks to Miguel Cabrera and Tori Hunter though others have pitched in as well. Cabrera has hit 4 home runs and has 12 RBI in 10 games this season alone. Hunter came just a single short yesterday of hitting for the cycle. Detroit has outscored the Indians 49-22 and have won 7 straight in the series! Detroit has also won 7 of 9 at Progressive Field. Cleveland is currently allowing its opponents to score a combined 32 runs over its last 4 games. Pitching has been the Indians' downfall and it doesn't appear to get any better today with Kluber on the mound who is just 1-1 with a 8.04 ERA in his last 4 starts!

Detroit is simply on a roll right now and have owned the Indians this season. The Tigers have matched their season-high 5-game win streak and will look to set a new high by extending it to 6 this afternoon. Back Detroit the better and hotter team at this generous price.

Some other trends to consider:

  • Cleveland is 4-10 on the season after 3 or more consecutive losses this season
  • Cleveland is 0-2 as a home underdog of +125 to +150 this season
  • Detroit is 11-6 as a road favorite of -125 to -150 this season
  • Cleveland is 1-14 since May 2008 when they scored last game and their opponent has won 3 or more straight games all by 3 or more runs.
