The perfect Friday night saw
the Clippers lead by as much as 43 points before eventually winning
by 36 as they completely humiliated the Lakers just as expected!
Elsewhere the visiting Dallas Mavericks were the better team from start to finish against the Pelicans.
Wins have often come in blowout fashion for us but the losses have usually been close games that could have gone either way.
There is one bet risking a total of 2% from our previous profit today.
Take the OVER 50.5 Total in New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts risking 2%
It is the AFC divisional round of the playoffs tonight as the Colts travel to Gillette Stadium to take on the Patriots. The Patriots are coming off a bye week while the Colts had to make an improbable comeback against the Kansas City Chiefs erasing a 28-points deficit to upset the Chiefs 45-44! Their game against the Chiefs showed a lot about the heart and never say die attitude that Andrew Luck and the entire Colts organization have. They could have easily given up after being down by 4 touchdowns but they rallied behind Andrew Luck and pulled off a miraculous and historic comeback!
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick went on record this week to say that he was "nervous" about this matchup. Now Belichick isn't a coach who typically gets nervous and even if he does he is not one to publicly announce it. His team will probably come out victorious ultimately but Belichick has plenty to be anxious about as the Colts are an interesting matchup for the Patriots in some ways.
The Patriots were one of the first teams in the league to implement the No-Huddle type offense where the players get set at the line and snap the ball quickly. Indianapolis has been using that style of offense with great success this season, they used it in their wins over Denver and out in San Francisco this season. The offense is geared towards marching down the field and putting points on the board quickly and efficiently. The Colts defense knows that it won't be able to contain Brady given that they have given up over 40 points in some of their recent games! New England also realizes that after last week's comeback win over Kansas City that they will not be able to sit on any kind of a lead against the Colts and take their foot off the gas pedal.
These two franchises have a history together and have provided some
of the more entertaining games to watch as Brady battled Manning. Now,
Luck is the heir apparent to Manning and some believe that he will also
take the torch from Tom Brady as one of the greatest QBs of his generation.
Tom Brady wasn't quite buying into that in their first meeting last
season as the Patriots throttled the Colts 59-24 in Luck's rookie season.
The difference in this matchup is that Luck has had another year under
his belt, while the Patriots are a completely transformed team on offense.
We don't expect to see either team trying to control the clock and continuously
running the football. This is the playoffs and not the time to play
conservative football. We expect both quarterbacks to throw the football in order to win
this game. This should be a back and forth contest with numerous lead changes
and may even come down to which team has the football last. Either way,
we see both teams scoring in the high 20's / low 30's in this one and
the Total going over the posted number. Take the Over.
Other notable facts to consider:
- The Over is 4-0 the last four meetings between these two teams.
- The Over is 11-2 over the last 3 seasons in a Patriots' home game when the total has been set at 49.5 or higher!
- The Over is 49-23 in the Patriots last 72 games!
- The Over is 40-19-2 after the Patriots score more than 30 points in their previous game!
- The Over is 38-17 the last 55 games the Patriots played vs. AFC teams.
