Monday's picks will be posted at the standard time (4:00 PM ET).

Sports Profit System is confident of a strong MLB month in August! There will of course be both wins and losses throughout the 31 days but it will be an excellent month when it's all over. Then comes September and it is no secret that football has always been our best sport. We outdo any service that is willing to be honest and transparent with results and enjoyed the highest football profit of all in 2013! Not every weekend was a good one but NFL and NCAA football were both lucrative and brought us just over 45 units (not factoring in juice) combined last season!

Take LA Angels (-139) on the Money Line against Boston Red Sox risking 2%
(Santiago and De La Rosa must start)

The Los Angeles Angels and the Boston Red Sox face off for Game 3 and the final game of the series this afternoon!
This has been an interesting and competitive series thus far and the Red Sox have given the Angels a much tougher time than many expected. After taking the opener, the Red Sox appeared to be in control of Game 2 before the Halos rallied to send the game to extra innings. 10 extra innings to be exact as Game 2 lasted 19 innings! It was a long and tiring game for both squads. The Red Sox gave them everything that they had and yet still ended up coming up short. To put that kind of effort and energy into a game, only to be defeated can be extremely deflating for the losing team. We expect both teams to be somewhat tired but it should be even tougher for the Red Sox who are again on the road after this game and will fly to Cincinnati. The Angels will be motivated as they will want to stay within striking distance of Oakland and have a lot more to play for.

Hector Santiago has been inconsistent at times this season but he has been pitching much better as of late and has also fared well at home. Over his last 3 games, he has done well against the division leading LA Dodgers, Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles; all teams that appear set to make the posts-eason this year. In his last 15.6 innings of work, he has only given up a total of 4 earned runs and just 10 hits to those normally dangerous offenses. Santiago is not as bad a pitcher as his win-loss record currently suggests and we feel that has skewed the public's perception of him. He is a lefty that when confident can baffle many batters.

Rubby De La Rosa will take the mound for the Sox this afternoon. De La Rosa is having a decent season in his first year in the Majors, but the learning curve has been steep for him thus far. He is a pitcher that has potential but is still learning what it is like to pitch against the very best hitters. He has a terrible 5.08 ERA and WHIP of nearly 1.6 in five road starts this season and has done far better at Fenway Park! The Red Sox are winless when he has started on the road this season!

The Angels are one of the very best home teams and score an average of 5 runs against right-handed starters! Mike Trout has led this team all season long and continues to put up impressive numbers. He had 3 hits in yesterday’s game, including a home run and could be in line for another big performance against a struggling De La Rosa. Yesterday's game was closer than it should have been and that's because the Angels left base-runners stranded many times and also committed 2 uncharacteristic errors, which is rare for this team. They are likely to be less wasteful with runners in scoring positions  today and Erick Aybar in particular might be a handful as he is 2 for 3 against De La Rosa with a homer and 2 RBIs in his career!

The Halos are the team that has the far better and more consistent offense. They have scored 550 runs while the Red Sox have only scored 441, which ranks dead last in the American league! The Angels not only have more 'power' in their lineup with guys like Trout, Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton but they also steal bases much more efficiently. They have stolen 63 bases while Boston has only 35 to show for all season! With the series hanging in the balance, we expect the Anaheim club to give it their all and win the rubber match.

Other notable facts to consider:

  • Red Sox are 3-10 as a road underdog of +125 to +150 this season!
  • Angels are 28-10 at home this season when the total is set at 8 or 8.5 runs.
  • Angels are 8-1 in their last nine Game 3 of a series!
