Sunday's picks will be posted at noon (12:00 PM ET).

Sports Profit System is confident of a strong MLB month in August! There will of course be both wins and losses throughout the 31 days but it will be an excellent month when it's all over. Then comes September and it is no secret that football has always been our best sport. We outdo any service that is willing to be honest and transparent with results and enjoyed the highest football profit of all in 2013! Not every weekend was a good one but NFL and NCAA football were both lucrative and brought us just over 45 units (not factoring in juice) combined last season!

Take the UNDER 7.5 Total Runs in Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals risking 2%
(Harang and Roark must start)

Yesterday we accurately predicted that the Braves would end their 8-game losing streak and do so against their main rivals Nationals and we are heading back to this important series tonight. It is our belief that the value lies in the Total Runs scored however in this matchup and not in either side.

Last night was a rare and unusual night for both offenses! Atlanta bats completely lit up Nationals' Ace Stephen Strasburg, in what was one of their best performances in a long time! They scored multiple homeruns and then the Nationals struck back scoring 6 runs off of Ervin Santana and the Braves bullpen. It was a strange night for both teams not just offensively but also defensively with some unchracteristic mistakes and errors. Neither team have ever been categorized as offensive powerhouses and for good reasons. For the most part, they rely on stellar pitching and solid fielding to win games while their often lackluster offenses does just enough to win ball games. After such an offensive explosion, we expect both teams to be a bit sharper on the mound but struggle at the plate tonight.

Much like the Braves, the Nats also have an inconsistent offense especially on the road. Braves pitcher Aaron Harang has been solid in his last few starts. The veteran has been impressive at keeping the ball inside the park and has given up only one homer at Turner Field this season! For the Nationals, starting pitcher Tanner Roark has become a household name this season! He is also a pitcher that doesn't make many mistakes and makes opposing teams earn each and every run off of him. He has an excellent 59 to 11 strike out to walk ratio and has only given up 6 home runs in 70 innings on the road this season.

After watching last night's game, much of the public will be expecting the same type of offensive production in this game but they are likely to be disappointed. About 80% of the betting public are hoping for another action-packed affair but both teams are likely to get back to their strong fundamentals on the mound and that should lead to a lower scoring game. We wouldn't be surprised to see either team win this but would be surprised if either scored 6 runs again! Both starters should have a quality outing and that means this inflated total will likely go Under the 7.5 mark.

Other notable facts to consider:

  • Tanner Roark is 4-1 with a 2.38 ERA in his last five starts.
  • Aaron Harang is 4-0 with a 2.89 ERA in his last eight starts.
  • Aaron Harang has given up only 1 homerun at home this season!
