Take Chicago Bulls at -5 spread against Washington Wizards risking 2%
Game 2 in this series kicks off tonight when the Bulls look to bounce back from what some would consider an upset at the hands of the Wizards. The Bulls have long been known as a team that has been built around defense. They are a group that uses its size and physicality to wear down opponents and forces them into single shots by good rebounding. The Bulls didn't do any of that particularly well in Game 1. They allowed Washington and more specifically Nene to do whatever he wanted to on the offensive end. It wasn't the Bulls that we are used to seeing and we expect a much different showing tonight.
Joakim Noah has been a game changer and is no doubt the leader of this franchise at this point. Derrick Rose was supposed to be the superstar but his injuries and the emergence of the former Florida Gator means it has been Noah who has lifted this team on his shoulders! The league has announced him the Defensive Player of the Year and something no other Chicago Bull has done since Michael Jordan back in 1988! That is a huge honor and you can expect him and teammates to step up and prove that he is very much worthy of the award.
The Chicago Bulls realize that if they lose Game 2 at home tonight, their playoff hopes are almost all but over. This is their do or die moment and a game in which they must and will give everything. The Bulls are the bigger, stronger and more experienced team in this contest. They have home court advantage and there is no doubt the crowd will be right behind Tom Thibodeau and his soldiers tonight.
Since the 2012 season there have been 6 teams who have lost Game 1 of their series at home regardless of the playoff round. In the following game all 6 teams have bounced back to win Game. While it's no surprise that the home team have gotten their revenge and evened up the series after losing Game 1, what is impressive is that they have done so by an average of almost 25 points! The Bulls are still a quality team and we expect Tom Thibodeau to make the necessary adjusts to guide his team to a convincing win. The refs called an abnormal amount of fouls in the first game between these two but should let them play a little more tonight and that should benefit the bruising Bulls more than the Wizards. Those who find the spread at -5.5, should buy half a point to bring it down to -5.
Other notable facts to consider:
- Chicago Bulls were 27-14 at home during the regular season.
- Wizards are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
- Bulls are 12-1 ATS in their last 13 games after allowing 100 points or more in the previous game!
- Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. Southeast opponents.
